Mrs. Margaret Welch.
Margaret Powers was born February 27, 1867, in Mercer County,
Illinois, and passed away at her home near Eliza, September 30, 1918,
about 4 o'clock, aged 51 years, 7 months and 3 days.
She was united in marriage to John J. Welch, April 12, 1893, who
preceded her seven years to that great beyond.
To this union were born eleven children, four having died in
infancy. Those surviving are James E., Mrs. Mary Deihl, John J.,
Catherine, Ella, Fredrick L., Anna M., and two grandchildren, Marjorie
and Earl Deihl. She leaves to mourn her death two sisters, Mrs. Mary
Cubbage and Mrs. Catherine Ryan of Joy; two brothers, John Powers of Joy
and James A. Powers of Aledo, seven nieces and three nephews. Besides
these a number of other relatives and friends mourn her departure.
She was a cherry and dutiful wife, a kind and loving mother.
"A loved one from us is gone, To that beautiful, glorious beyond,
Dwelling now among the blessed, In our Father's care, she rests.
The funeral took place Wednesday morning, at 10:30 o'clock at
St. Mary's church Keithsburg, where requiem high mass was celebrated by
Father E. J. Welsh of Aledo.
Interment was in St. Mary's cemetery.
