Lucille I. Wessling

  Mass of the Christian burial for Lucille Wessling of Carroll will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll. Celebrant will be Rev. James McCormick.
  Mrs. Wessling, 88, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, at the Centers for Long Term Care in Carroll.
Lector will be Shelly Savner. Gift bearers will be Marilyn Oswald, Carolyn Oswald-Johnson, Lisa Wessling, Tanya Danner, Mary Jo Oswald and Jennifer Wessling. Eucharistic ministers will be Dennis and LeAnn Wessling.
  Casket bearers will be Donald Oswald, Douglas Oswald, Brian Wessling, Scott Wessling, Steve Wessling and Mark Wessling. Honorary pallbearers will be Grace Timms, Sister Agnes Schachtner, Maxine Rolfes, Betty Bushman, Delores Jarbae and Linda Hoffman.
  Catholic Daughters of the Americas will form an honor guard at the church.
  Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
  Friends may call at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, where a rosary will be recited by Catholic Daughters of the Americas at 3 p.m. and a Christian wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. by the parish.
  The casket will be taken to the church at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday to lie in state until the time of the funeral Mass.
  A daughter of Henry and Mary (Wilkens) Neuerburg, she was born July 9, 1914, at Carroll.
She attended Sts. Peter and Paul Schools in Carroll, and in her younger years was employed by the former Carroll Laundry.
  She was married to Raymond Wessling May 4, 1936, at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Carroll. The couple made their home in Carroll, and Mrs. Wessling was a homemaker and was employed for two years by the Kuemper Catholic High School hot lunch program.
  She was a member of Holy Spirit parish and its ladies guild, Legion of Mary and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
  Survivors include four children and their spouses, Marlene and Walter Oswald of Adams, Minn., Louis and Jolene Wessling of Breda, Dennis and LeAnn Wessling of Kansas City, Mo., and Eugene and Joyce Wessling of Carroll; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Sapp of Carroll.
  Mrs. Wessling was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; two grandsons, David Oswald and Jeffrey Wessling; one brother, George Neuerburg; and eight sisters, Betty Trigg, Theresa Schachtner, Rose Schachtner, Ann Brower, Frances Comes, Mary Otto, Mathilda Thelen and Hilda Nazaryk.
