| Hazel E. Westen dies here today
Mrs. Hazel E. Westen, 75, died this morning, Feb. 23, 1970, at
the Washington County Hospital. She had been seriously ill the past four
months. Her home was 101 1/2 West Washington Street.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Sherman-Eden Funeral
Home with Rev. W. J. Stevens in charge. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Weston was born Dec. 2, 1894 in Washington County, a
daughter of John T. and Jessie Ellen Reeves Swift. She was reared here
and married Jan. 20, 1915 to John H. Westen, he died June 6, 1960.
Surviving are three brothers: Francis B. Swift of Davenport,
Patrick H. Swift of Tacoma, Wash., Terry Swift of Jennings, Kansas and a
number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Jessie and one sister,
Mrs. Dorthea Lowe.
