John H. Westen Dies Here Sunday
John H. Westen, 72, died Sunday at his home, 609 North Avenue
C., after a serious illness of three weeks.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Sherman-Eden
Funeral Home with the Rev. W.J. Stevens in charge. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Westen was born Nov. 26, 1887 in Delavan, Ill., a son of
Everett and Sophia Koehler Westen. He was reared and educated in Emden,
Ill., and married Jan. 20, 1915 in Washington to Hazel E. Swift. He was a truck operator.
Survivors include his wife; three brothers: Martin, Harm and
George Westen of Washington; two sisters: Mrs. Kathryn Price of Colorado
Springs, Mrs. Folly Klockings of Pekin, Ill., and a number of nieces and nephews.
