Death of Mrs. Mary Wheelan

  Mrs. Mary Wheelan, widow of Thomas Wheelan, who had been sick for seventeen months, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joe Lohberger, Wednesday morning, March 19th, at 8:40 o'clock. She was born in County Meath, Ireland, May 19, 1838, and she was married September 1, 1856, to Thomas Wheelan at Galena, Illinois. Twelve children were born to them, of whom six are living: Mrs. Joe Lohberger, of Washington; Geo. Wheelan, of Washington; Kate, of Waterloo; Will, of Council Bluffs; Jim, of Chicago, and Richard, of Pocatello, Idaho.
  She was a member of the St. James church here, and the funeral services were held Friday morning at 8 o'clock, solemn mass being said at 8 o'clock, and private funeral services were held at 10 o'clock. The pall bearers were: John Mulligan, Pat Burns, Will Hayes, Abe Swift, Joe Reiner, John Scannel. Interment was in Elm Grove.
  There are twenty-seven grand children.
  Mrs. Wheelan was a good woman, and a true mother. For years she had made her home with Mrs. Lohberger, and she will be greatly missed. This is the second death in the Lohberger home in the last five months. Sincerest sympathy is extended.
