Ben Willenborg
Templeton - Ben Willenborg, 77, of Templeton died of a heart
ailment Saturday, April 8, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
He had been ill three days.
Requiem mass will be celebrated by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. A. W.
Behrens at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Church here, with burial
in the parish cemetery. Military honors will be given at the cemetery by
American Legion Post No. 22 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3517,
both of Manning.
Friends may call at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning, where the
rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday, followed by a Scripture
service at 8:15.
Mr. Willenborg, son of Henry and Minnie Scharnagel Willenborg, was born
at Dedham April 17, 1894, and was a lifelong resident of Carroll County.
He was married May 30, 1922, to Mayme Kettmann at Sacred Heart Church,
Templeton, by the late Rt. Rev. Msgr. F. H. Huesmann. They farmed until
moving into Templeton in 1960. Mr. Willenborg was a member of Sacred
Heart Church and the Holy Name Society at Templeton and of the American
Legion at Manning. He was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving with his wife are three sons, Bernard and Harold of
Carroll and John of Templeton; two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Dorothy) Drake
of Coon Rapids and Mrs. Junior (Mary) Hugeback of Manning; 23
grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Wenz (Clara)
Feilmeier of Carroll; and a brother, Leonard Willenborg of Bayard.
Mr. Willenborg was preceded in death by one grandchild, three
sisters and four brothers.
