Darline Williams
Darline M. Williams, 89, of Aledo, died Saturday, May 20,
2006, at Aledo Rehab and Health Center.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine's
Catholic Church, Aledo. Burial is in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to
7 p.m. Thursday at Fippinger Funeral Home, where a rosary will be
recited at 7 p.m. A memorial fund has been established, and online

She was born May 14, 1917, in Mercer Township, Ill., a daughter
of Clarence and Della Farms Johnson. She attended local Aledo schools,
graduated from Aledo High School, attended business school and graduated
from McGovern's School of Beauty. She married Paul T. Williams June 29,
1938, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Alexis. He died June 24, 1984.
She purchased Maymie Willits Beauty Shop and was employed at many
other shops, including Lavanda's Clip and Curl, Violet's Powder Puff,
Ava LaFrance and Barb Dellitts Beauty Shop. She also did beauty work in
local nursing homes and truly loved doing hair, her favorite thing.
Darline grew up as a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Aledo, which she
loved. After her marriage, she became a lifelong member of St.
Catherine's Catholic Church, Aledo. She was a member of ABC Neighborhood
Club and Mercer County Senior Citizens Center.
She enjoyed flowers, shopping, stock car races, horse races, flea
markets, Bishop Hill and taking as many trips and outings as possible.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and John
Bridger, Viola; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Holly Williams,
Milan, and Steve and Sheri Williams, Aledo; grandchildren (and spouses),
Brad Williams, Karl Adams, Greg (Ronda) Vavrosky, Chris (Rob) Danner,
Bryce and Sabrina Williams, Tangie (Dave) Vinar, Dwight (Deb) Bridger;
great-grandchildren, Carolyn, Claudia and Brandon Williams, Rebecca
Vavrosky, Cole and Reagan Danner, Damon and McKinzie Viner and Alex and
Eric Bridger. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a twin
sister, Charlotte Sharer; and sister, Gladys Ramsey.
