Ruby Clark Willingham, 84, of Paris died Friday,
February 8, 2008 at her home.
A private memorial service will be held at the Arenzville
Methodist Church, Arenzville, Illinois and a Celebration of her life
will be held in the spring.
She was born March 23, 1923 in Virginia, Illinois, the daughter
of Horace Stanton Clark and Mary Lula Hamilton Clark. She was united in
marriage to Nelson H. Willingham, on June 17, 1967.
Ruby was born the fourth child and a twin to a struggling young
farm couple on the “hard road” to Virginia, Illinois. She graduated
from Arenzville High School and the Mexico Public School of Practical
Nursing. She was the proud cousin of George Rogers and William Clark, a
dedicated nurse, a humorous author, a loving wife, a good mother, a fun
grandma, and a kind friend.
She is survived by her husband, Nelson Willingham of Paris; her
daughter, Jane-Ann Bertels of Rogers, AR: her son, Dennis Nobis and his
wife Barbara of Paris; three grandsons, Brian Nobis and wife Deanna of
Paris, Cory Nobis and wife Jeannie of Paris, Brice Bertels of Columbia;
one granddaughter, Mary Whitney Hagedorn and husband Jon of Rogers, AR;
six great-grandchildren; Seth, Haley, Jill and Caitlyn Nobis, Cassie and
Andy Hagedorn; one brother, John Clark and wife Lois of Arenzville,
Illinois; her sister-in-law, Roberta Clark of Urbana, Il; nieces,
nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Daniel
Bertels; her sister, Mary Lou Penza; her brother, Robert Clark; and her
beloved twin, Ralph Clark.
