Anna Wiskus

Carroll

  Mass of the Christian burial for Anna Wiskus of Carroll will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll.
  Mrs. Wiskus, 91, died of an apparent heart condition Friday, Aug. 22, at her home.
  The Rev. James McCormick will preside at the Mass. Lectors will be Barb Happe and Pam Vossen. Gift bearers will be Julie Peahl, Sarah Stacy and Nancy Hultgren. Servers will be Katie McLaughlin and Ashley and Colin Schreck. Eucharistic ministers will be LeAnn and Dennis Wessling, and Bob Eich. Soloist will be John Wagner. The casket will be moved to the church at 9 a.m. The Templeton Catholic Daughters of the Americas and St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary will form an honor guard.
  Casket bearers will be Chris Peahl, Kent Pudenz, Leo Kanne, Brian Wessling, Jeff Eich, Steve Stalzer and Paul Stacy.
  A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Cemetery in Dedham.
  Visitation began at 2:30 and the Legion of Mary and Templeton CDA led a rosary at 3 this afternoon at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Holy Spirit Parish will hold a Christian wake service at 7 and another rosary will be prayed at 7:45 tonight at the funeral home.
  Born Nov. 24, 1911, at Dedham, she was a daughter of August B. and Mary (Tigges) Meyer. She spent her younger years in the Dedham community and attended St. Joseph School.
  She and Leo Wiskus were married Jan. 22, 1935, at St. Joseph Church. The couple farmed near Dedham until 1949, when they moved to the family farm northwest of Templeton.
  Mrs. Wiskus moved to Carroll in 1976 and was employed in the housekeeping department at St. Anthony Regional Hospital for several years.
  She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and Ladies Guild, the St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary, the Legion of Mary and the Templeton CDA, where she served as a past regent. She was also a volunteer at the New Hope Village Store.
  She was a partner with her husband, working side by side with him on the farm. She enjoyed visiting and playing cards with her family and friends.
  She is survived by seven daughters and their husbands: Elaine Peahl and her husband, Charles, of Titusville, Fla., Mildred Pudenz and her husband, Art, of Gladstone, Mo., Dorothy Kanne and her husband, Paul, of Carroll, LeAnn Wessling and her husband, Dennis, of | Parkville, Mo., LaVonne Eich and her husband, Bob, of Templeton, Carol Stalzer and her husband, Jim, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Joyce Stacy and her husband, Pete, of Kansas City, Mo.; 31 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Mary Wessling and her husband, Hugo, of Carroll and Sister Rita Meyer FSPA of La Crosse, Wis.
  Mrs. Wiskus was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo, in November 1975; two sons: Joseph Wiskus and Allen Wiskus (in infancy); a grandson, Douglas Pudenz; a great-granddaughter, Madison Eich; two brothers: Frank J. and John Meyer; and four sisters: Veronica Broich, Sister Leanne Meyer, Sister Roselma Meyer and Leona Erps.

  The following surviving sisters-and brother-in-law were omitted from the Anna Wiskus obituary that ran Monday, Aug. 25: Mary Meyer of Carroll, Anita Meyer of Omaha, Neb., Irene Wiskus of Carroll, Helen Wiskus of Dedham, Vera Wiskus of Hisperia, Calif., and William Wiskus of Carroll.
