Leo Wiskus
Templeton - Leo Wiskus, 67, of Templeton died at 9:15 a.m.
Thursday, Nov. 20, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, where he
had been a patient for five weeks. He was a retired farmer.
Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday
at Sacred Heart Church here by the Rev. Eugene Schumacher. Burial will
be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Dedham.
Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 7
p.m. Saturday. The rosary will be recited at 8 and 8:45 p.m. Saturday
and at 3 and 8 p.m. Sunday, the last by Sacred Heart parishioners and
Holy Name Society.
Mr. Wiskus, son of John B. and Agnes Wiskus, was born at Dedham,
April 6, 1908, and spent his early years in that area, attending school
at Dedham. He married Anna Meyer at St. Joseph Church, Dedham, on Jan.
23, 1935, with the late Rev. Christopher Huelshorst officiating. They
farmed near Dedham until 1949, when they moved to a farm two miles
northwest of Templeton. Since his retirement in 1971 they continued to
live on that farm.
Mr. Wiskus was a member of Sacred Heart Church and Holy Name
Society at Templeton.
Surviving with his wife are seven daughters: Mrs. Charles
(Elaine) Peahl of Palmdale, Calif.; Mrs. Art (Mildred) Pudenz, Mrs.
Dennis (Lee Ann) Wessling and Mrs. Peter (Joyce) Stacy of Kansas City,
Mo.; Mrs. Paul (Dorothy) Kanne and Mrs. Robert (LaVonne) Eich of Carroll
and Mrs. James (Carol) Stalzer of Sioux Falls, S.D.
Also surviving are 26 grandchildren; seven brothers, including
Joseph, John, Fred and Bernard Wiskus of Dedham, Louis Wiskus of
Glidden, Bill Wiskus of Carroll and George Wiskus of Los Angeles,
Calif.; and three sisters, Mrs. Mayme Weitl, Mrs. Clem (Elizabeth)
Klocke and Colletta Wiskus of Dedham.
Two sons, Joseph and Allen, and a sister, Loretta, preceded Mr.
Wiskus in death.
