Wesley D. Young, 90, a quiet, gentle and humble man of Moline,
died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at his home in Moline.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be 2 p.m.
today at Riverside Cemetery, Moline, with the Rev. Christian Meyer
officiating. Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Sept. 13, 1913, in Moline, to William and Hattie Jors
Young. He married Leona K. Jansen June 26, 1937, in Dixon, Ill. She
preceded him in death in 2000.
Survivors (and spouses) include his daughter, Janet Duncan, Green
Valley, Ariz.; son, Jerry Young, Fairdealing, Ky.; grandsons, Bryan
Verschoore, Rock Island, Bradley Verschoore, rural Milan, and Marc
(Hope) Young, Reston, Va. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in
death by a brother, William Young.
