Madeline VanPuymbroeck Marries Joseph Mack at St. Paul's Church Today
Miss Madeline Van Puymbroeck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Van
Puymbroeck, 1109 Second Street, Rock Island, was married to Joseph Mack,
son of Mr. and Mrs. William Mack, of near Taylor Ridge, Ill., this
morning at 8 o'clock in St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Rev. L. E. Van Stappen performed the ceremony and celebrated the nuptial
mass. Miss Mae O'Leary and Emil Verschoore of near Taylor Ridge were the attendants.
The bride was dressed in white georgette. Her tulle veil extended from a
cap, wreathed with orange blossoms. Her shower bouquet was of deep pink
roses, sweetpeas and babybreath. She carried a white rosary. The honor
maid was in green georgette and she carried an arm bouquet of pink
roses, sweet peas and babybreath. Her hat and other accessories were white.
A wedding breakfast for eight was held at the bride's home following the
ceremony. A noon dinner for relatives and friends also was held at the
Van Puymbroeck home.
The couple will take a short trip, the destination of which is not
disclosed. The bride wore a blue traveling costume.
Mrs. Mack attended Rock Island public schools and the former Brown's
Business college, Davenport. The couple will reside on a farm near
Taylor Ridge.
The bride was feted at a miscellaneous shower Tuesday afternoon given by
Miss O'Leary at her home near Taylor Ridge. Decorations were in the
chosen colors, green and white. Thirty-six guests were present. Prizes
in contests were received by Misses Easie Curry, Mary Bush, Hilda Boens
and Thelma Kaider.
