Ceredo-Kenova
Little League Concludes a Wonderful 2008 Season
C-K Little League put together one of its most competitive and successful seasons in many years in
2008. In May, the Glenn's Sporting Goods Braves won the 48 team Les Ghiz
District Tournament while all league teams had a combined .733 winning
percentage in the tournament. C-K advanced three baseball teams past
districts to states, with the 10's and 12's finishing first in their state pools. Ceredo-Kenova also fielded its first
ever softball team in Little League district tournament play. The 2008
Tournament of State Champions wrapped up the season with the All-District game
and a memorable
championship game between Columbus American (Georgia) and SYA East (Virginia).
The Ceredo-Kenova Little League would like
to thanks all the players, coaches, volunteers, sponsors, and fans for a fun and
exciting season, and we look forward to an even better 2009.

Wins 2008 Tournament of State Champions
On August 1-6, 2008, ten Little League state champions traveled to Legendary Mitch Stadium in Ceredo-Kenova, West Virginia for the fourth
annual Tournament of State Champions, providing an opportunity for 9-10
Year-Olds to play beyond the state level. The invitational tournament is a
celebration of "home town America" and "Hometown Little League" at its best.
The squad from Columbus American Little League won the 2008 title on a walk-off
home run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Visit the TOSC website for all
the details of the 2008 Tournament.

Stadium Archive
MitchStadium.com is currently adding a
digital archive of team pictures and rosters, records, video and audio
recordings, and historical accounts of all Ceredo-Kenova teams and tournaments
at Mitch Stadium. We have added a narrative of C-K's state championship teams from Rusty Bash, who helped coach
three of the state championship teams. Rusty, an old friend of The Mitch
and a contributor to the Ceredo and Kenova communities, passed away last winter.
We are also adding all the historical C-K Little League regular
season teams of the past. If you have any old pictures or accounts to add to
Mitch Stadium's historical records, please contact
baseball@mitchstadium.com.
