Ceredo-Kenova Wonders finish successful football campaign, A Team wins Turf Bowl

Ceredo-Kenova placed the A and C teams in the 2011 Turf Bowl at Marshall Stadium on Saturday, November 13. C-K's A Team defeated Buffalo, 16-8 to win a Turf Bowl championship, the third consecutive year C-K has claimed a Turf Bowl trophy.  The C Team played South Point, but the Wonders gave up touchdowns on two misdirection plays lost, 14-6.

Overall, all C-K TSYFL teams finished with a combined record of 31-8, including a Turf Bowl Championship, a Turf Bowl runner-up, and a semifinalist.  Congratulations to the Wonders youth football program on an outstanding year!

 TOURNAMENT OF STATE C
HAMPIONS

 
Each summer, eight state champions from the Southeast Region travel to Legendary Mitch Stadium for the annual Little League Tournament of State Champions, a celebration of "Home Town Little League" and "hometown America" at its best.  The eighth annual TOSC will be held July 27-August 1, 2012.
 
GOOD SAMARITAN 5K RUN/WALK

The Good Samaritan Soles 5K Run/Walk is held annually Monday morning on Labor Day.  Visit www.c-klife.net for more information and the registration form.

· Start at Mitch Stadium on 6th Street West
· Go North to B Street & make a right onto B Street traveling to the red light at B and C Streets.
· Make a left at the red light going East on C Street (Route 60) past Larry McCoy’s Auto.
· Make a left onto A Street
· Go West on A Street to where it intersects Beech Street
· Continue West on Beech Street to street before the train bridge and turn left onto Walnut Street
· Go East on Walnut Street to 12th Street and make a left back to Beech Street
· Make a right onto Beech Street and travel east to 6th Street West
· Make a right onto 6th Street West back to Mitch Stadium making a left onto the Ceredo Plaza and the finish line


 DID YOU KNOW?
C-K LL baseball teams have won the last four Les Ghiz District Tournaments!  The Braves (2008 champs) and Cardinals (2009 champs) both met in the 2010 Ghiz Championship Game at Hite-Saunders, with the Braves winning the 2010 pennant.  The Dodgers
won the 2011 district tournament with 6 straight victories.
