Why not? My town is currently stocked with mostly 90's models. (for that
matter, my driveway is stocked with 80's and 90's models.)
Cars are expensive and don't simply puff into smoke when the new models
come out (at least they're not *supposed* to). Considering that they landed in
asmall town in a depressed area, I wouldn't expect to see all new cars.

As you know, car production stopped during WW2 and resumed in 46 or 47.
Given the rural, poor nature of Carbon Creek, the residents would try to
keep cars running as long as possible. A related current situation where
Cubans still drive 1950's American Cars!

Well, Doctor Who only happened in Britain, or at least on a planet or ship
where everyone had an accent. :)

Well Carbon Creek was partially based on "Strangers
From The Sky" in which a Vulcan ship crashed off the
coast of Australia a couple years from now...*L*...In
that book the Vulcans said that they'd been watching
earth since the 1940's.

And something T'Pol said intrigues me. She said that
the Carbon Creek incident is in the records of the
Vulcan Science Academy on Vulcan. So maybe the records
are available for Archer to go thru and find out what
happened to Maestral?? From what T'Pol said they don't
seem to be classified like her age apperantly is *L*
.
