I thought that was part of the point of the episode - that Trip had to
focus on something that wasn't his speciality. It's unsurprising when
Hoshi learns yet another language, just like it was unsurprising when
Le Forge solved a new impossible technical problem.

What it all really means is that they ripped off The Enemy from TNG,
which
was a better episode.

: 3) Showing Trip's hairy chest was yet another attempt at "sexing it
: up". It added nothing to the value of the story. The network execs
: should keep their target audience in mind. If they're going to do
: cheap stuff like that, next time show off T'Pol's bare chest.

: 4) Seeing that communication was dealt with mostly in this story,
: maybe Hoshi should have been the one to crash land. At least showing
: off her chest would have gotten better viewership, though still
: adding nothing to the story.

They can't do that! They can only come close, to tantalize us, but they
can't really go right ahead with that. Or they would have done so by now.

or that B&B recently saw Enemy Mine and liked the story (and the make-up,
and the props)
