I am not certain but I thought the ENT had a crew of around 120?

In ST:IV, Kirk and crew are apparently traveling to Earth from Vulcanin the Bounty at sub-light speed, because it's not until they decideto do the time travel bit that Kirk says, "Prepare for warp speed."Yet earlier Sulu had said something like "Estimating planet Earth in2.9 hours."

Without much fuss. Which sort of suggests such things are commonplace
in the United Earth Starfleet. And, of course, does not in any way
contradict those who want to believe that the United Federation of
Planets Starfleet charter includes an explicit ban on female captains,
at least during Kirk's TOS adventures.

Which would translate to warp 11.3 if the warp-factor-cubed formula
is to be believed. The favored fan identity for Vulcan, 40 Eridani A,
indeed lies some 16 lightyears away from Earth.

Does this mean Earth was not previously attacked by aliens? I guess
the space pirate problem doesn't affect the homefront much. (And that
there never were Kzinti invasions in this universe...)

It's your imagination.

This episode was substantially better than what we've gotten used to. Good
riddance to the Temporal Cold War!

And fewer episodes this season than usual. IIRC, UPN has contracted for only
24 eps this year.

No doubt at least partially a reference to American's reactions to various
Islamic peoples in this day and age. And what was that thing Phlox did with
his face????

No surprise there. She's an excellent actress.

> I wonder how T'Les felt about having a smelly human in her home?

She was too polite to say anything. She did pick up on their mutual
attraction, and thinks that her daughter should not be marrying
whats-his-name in view of that.

This was a really good review!

I have seen Joanna Cassidy in many different roles. As such, I
feel that she is a great actress!! The first role that I can remember
her having is on a television series that did not last that long. It
was titled "240-Robert". It was about paramedics that did air
rescues using a helicopter. Her character's name was Deputy
Morgan Wainright. This series was on in 1979.

I just visited the Internet Movie Database and saw that she will
make another appearance on "Enterprise" in November!! She
will once again be T'Pol's mom. The episode will be titled
"Awakening".

Notice the difference on mind set from TOS to now? A female captain, yet we saw in TOS that women weren't really seen to be captains. In the episode "Turnabout Intruder" they almost said outright women couodn't finction as ship's captains. So what do we believe, that they were and then weren't and then were again later? Star Trek has been accused of showing not future ideals but rather the ideals of
the era they play to. Maybe so but I'm glad to see the change. :-)
