#3: I love J.G. Hertzler, and any appearance by him is
a good one.

#5: I'd say Earth is still a bit jittery about genetic
engineering because of the Eugenics Wars, not science
fiction. It's about the same time frame as present day
and the civil war, and there's people who still aren't
convinced that one's over...

#6: I wondered that one myself. I thought maybe they
had the shuttle to begin with, and it had belonged to
Soong, but they were still trapped on the planet
because not all of them could fit in it.

Here's a new one: Arik Soong is an ancestor of Noonien
Soong. Did he have children before this, at least ten
years ago, who end up being Noonien's line, or will it
be after this, or will one of these genetic supermen
(or superwomen), all of whom call him their father,
continue the line? Also, the Eugenics Wars were led by
Khan Noonien Singh, a similarity that was not an
accident on Roddenberry's part. What do you think of
the possibility that Arik, and thus Noonien and in a
way, Data, are descended from Khan himself?

I love seeing humans kick Klingon ass!

This is remarkable in what way? ;)

> 2) It's good to see an Orion female gain!

Though we should have seen more of her, IMHO...

> 3) J.G. Hertzler had a very brief appearance.

Even Mrs Avenger recognized the voice instantly as "that one eyed
klingon dude".

I thought T'pol should have tried to struggle more but i guess
struggling wasn't logical with the devices on them. Still, she looked
like wet cat dangling over a bathtub or something..

You aren't paranoid if they really ARE out to get you... almost every
augmented human we have seen in the Trek verse has been a meglomaniac,
at least pre DS9 time frame. Perhaps by then some of the kinks were
being worked out - of course Bashir could be pretty insufferable at
times ;)

My guess is that they managed to put out a fake distress call, some ship

sent down a shuttle, but then left when they realised it was a trap.. or

maybe the shuttle was on some mission by itself and answered a distress
call...

OR - they bought a kit mail order off the intergalatic internet, and
built it out of empty beer cans.
