This episode didn't show in LA at the regular time, and I wasn't home
anyway. I will catch it on the repeat today.

But in the meantime I wonder -- if the Orion girls had the pheromone,
what
did they need the visuals for? They could have been mud-ugly and
wearing fur
barrels, and the effect would have been the same.

Agreed! There was a lot of complaints about the neuro-pressure and
decon-chamber scenes, but that was only because those scenes really
didn't fit into the story, they where obviously only there to show some
T&A. But as Orion females are known for being seductive and showing a
lot of skin, even that somewhat gratuitous dance scene didn't feel out
of place in this episode.

Yeah, that kiss wasn't very Vulcan like. But it wasn't nearly as bad as
some other things they've had T'Pol do over the years. I'm sure you all
remember her and Phlox in the decon chamber, when something affected her
and triggered the Pon farr?

And why are the Orions mad with Archer?

Bound has the most detailed looks that Trek has ever taken on the
Orions.

All other Treks have really only touched on this unique species.

Too bad we don't have a season's 5,6,7 to delve into the Orions some
more.

And this was nothing like that!

Reminded me of a thought I recently had about dogs and cats: who really
domesticated whom? We think of ourselves as having domesticated them,
but it seems like these animals have humans well trained to provide them
with food and shelter. Dogs had to do chores at one time in history
(helping with hunting or herding), but cats really got it figured out --
all they have to do is purr.

Could have been a fun entertaining episode. But....

How insulting where the writers to the female cast members? Are the female
members of the Enterprise totally ineffectual and become completely useless
when faced with a headache? T'Pol had a few moments but why was Hoshi not
doing anything?

Why did the Orions not just take Archer when he had beamed over the first
time?

Why where the Orion women not totally isolated so they could not use their
pheremones?

Why was a lone male left to guard the women?

In the 60's they could get away with Mudd's Women. Even then, that episode
was not as insulting as Bound was (to females or the audience in general).

Season 4 has been a decent season. A number of good highs. Guess a
stinker
has to slip in every now and then.

True... but, then again, I don't see anything wrong with this.
Remember, Vulcans are actually VERY passionate people underneath, and
T'Pol has all that neurological damage from her Trellium-D addiction.
Doesn't seem particularly inconsistent to HER PERSONALLY. Don't forget
ever Vulcan, just like every Human, is different. ;)
