Being trapped onboard a prison transport ship provided a unique opportunity for Archer to explore the "darker" side of other alien races. Sure, he was unjustly arrested and escape would be his number one priority, but why not find out more about these alien's culture as well. Such an opportunity would have been a major boost for Archer's exploration curiosities. Perhaps such information gathered on the prison ship would have enticed Archer to seek and explore some of their home worlds. However, no such developments ever took place. Most of the episode dealt with useless drown out fighting scenes and a nagging alien, while the rest of the Enterprise crew went on the "Where in the galaxy is Archer and Trip" quest. There were no character developments and no real adventure to speak of.   For the most part, it was dull and boring.  It's pretty bad when the continuously-talking alien was all you would look forward for entertainment. At least there could have been a moral theme on the humane treatment of prisoners or rights for the falsely accused! Or at least visit Canamar!!

This episode was more or less just a network time-slot filler. One good note, and that is Archer and Trip did show how well they could adapt to a ship full of prisoners. I guess Starfleet training has paid off.
