MJC Review:
The Drama -

This was a good start for season three.  There was definitely some good action scenes that kept the show well paced.  I don't think that there was ever a dull moment.  The opening and closing scenes of the Xindi council was cool.  It was good to get the perspective of the Xindi and see what their thinking was.  Of course, many more questions come to mind, like the source of their "contact".  Nice special effects on some of the Xindi characters!  Looks like the producers took some lessons from Species 8472 in the Voyager series.

Archer certainly did display a bit more traditional human anger in this episode.  He seems to show signs of becoming more desperate at locating the Xindi at any cost.  I'm sure that this will progress more as this arc unfolds.

I'm not sure if there was any real good story telling in this episode.  The successive actions scenes tended to make up for this.  The story seemed  more like a quest at finding the Xindi's home world.  Perhaps this storyline will offer an opportunity to express all the faults of humanity rather than rehashing standard sci-fi action oriented stories.   Definitely a better follow-up to the Expanse than Shockwave2 was to season's 1 cliff-hanger!!

The viewer did get to see a sneak speak at the human commandos.  In the fighting scene, they definitely showed their profession well.  One can already tell that this will be the basis for some character conflicts with the crew.  Reed, in particular, is already gearing up for some head-butting with them.

Tid Bits -
1)  Mayweather can still pilot the ship and shuttle pods.

2)  At the beginning of the episode, the Xindi council mentioned that the human's home world was 50 ly away.  So has any hard-core fan figured out how long it would take Enterprise to reach the Delphic Expanse give the 50ly value?  Remember, at the beginning of The Expanse last season, Archer mentioned that it would be a 3 month journey at warp 5 to get there, then near the end of The Expanse show when they reach the Expanse, he says that 7 weeks had passed.  Go figure.  And didn't Soval mention in 'The Expanse' that the it was some 2000 ly across?  That's a huge area for something supposedly so relatively close to earth.  Another go figure.

3)  Still the same'ol stupid theme song, though with a bit of a tempo change.

4)  Paramount now tells station to put Star Trek at the beginning of the title.  It's about damn time!

5)  Notice that we never got to see those three ships coming to attack Enterprise.  Weren't those ships just seconds away from firing before the Enterprise went into warp?  Guess CGI Xindi characters have forced special effects budget cuts.

6)  I guess the Universal Translators work all the time in the expanse, including on the mining planet.  So what's the need for Hoshi to go on this trip?

7)  T'Pol still looks hot - even in her new outfit!

What it all means -
Enterprise and crew are on the warpath.
4 cool peace signs
