MJC Review:
The Drama -

After an unusual ending to last season's cliff-hanger, the series picks up with Alien Nazis messing up the timeline. It was concerning that playing the Nazi card for a storyline may be overdoing it a bit, but this episode seemed to play it out well. The scenes were well paced with the amount of action needed for certain scenes timed out to just what was needed. The actors playing out the people of Brooklyn during that era made things seem more real and content with that of those times. Bringing up some of the social and political issues of those times made for a more meaningful sense of realism to the dialog. Most of the time, when an actor is playing in the past, lines and scenes can seem a bit lame.

One can understand that Archer may be a bit confused at first. One minute, he was busy trying to destroy the Xindi weapon and the next he was in earth's past and captured by Nazis who have invaded north east America - go figure. His adaptation to the situation may have seemed a bit too quick given what had just happened to him, but he did seem to asses the situation well and come up with a game plan to find out what and who is causing this timeline chaos.

At first, the Enterprise crew tried to make the best of figuring out what was going on. Believing that Archer was dead, at first, did make things a bit more difficult. Having Silik appear just added a bit more twist to an already confusing situation for them. It was kind of interesting having separate events taking place between the Enterprise crew and Archer, not knowing what each is doing, yet working on a common goal. That has tended to be a classic trademark for a Berman Trek production. T'Pol was quite shocked to see that Archer was alive. For her and the crew, he quite literally came from the dead.

It'll be interesting to see how all this wraps up in an one hour episode next Friday. There is certainly a lot of material to cover, but if the producers approach it like what was done in this episode (short, simple, and to the point type scenes), it should be good.

Tid Bits -

1) Mayweather and Tripp get captured by the Nazis.

2) The Alien Nazis still look too much like Remans

3) That was some makeup job done for Daniels!

4) Seeing the Nazi flag fly over the white house sent chills down my spine.

5) Cool special effects for the U.S. fighter planes!

6) Same-ol theme song.

What it all means -
Just when you thought it was over.....
3 cool peace signs
