MJC Review:
The Drama -

Hats off to Cotto for doing a fine job with this one. Most Nazi storyline tend to be stereotypical with endless clichés, but this episode's focus was on the temporal cold war and the Nazis served as backdrop to the main storyline. Most scenes were quick and to the point. Though there were numerous plot threads to deal with, they dealt with the issues at hand well and moved on to the next without wasting valuable viewer time. There were no stupid time-filler gaps. The fire fight action scenes were actually fun to watch. In a nut shell, it just all made sense!

It was good to see more of the Vosk character and his motivations in this part two episode. He just wasn't the typical and lame bad guy of the week. Vosk served well as Archer's villain for this episode. He was every bit as evil and manipulative as a villain should be. His speech before stepping into the vortex must have been moving for his followers. He truly believed in his cause and died at the end believing in it. As for Archer's other villain, Silik, who would have thought that he would have died while trying to help Archer save the day. It wasn't any of that "oh, I'm on your side today" crap. The way they played out the Silik character in this situation was well done.

At first, one might think how stupid a battle scene between the Enterprise and WWII German fighters over New York would be. Anyone trying to pitch an idea with that scene in mind would have likely been shot down themselves, but the timing of that event and the context within which it was played made for a good battle scene.

It was quite clear at the end, that ship and crew are exhausted from the Xindi crisis and this ordeal. I'm sure they'll be quite happy to get home.

Tid Bits -

1) Mayweather gets rescued.

2) John Fleck (Silik) gets to appear without makeup!

3) Nice propaganda newsreel at the beginning.

4) I wonder why the time conduit was being built in Manhattan and not in Germany?

5) And we still don't know who Future Guy is???

What it all means -
