MJC Review:
The Drama -

Archer must bare the katra of Surak and, willingly or not, save the Vulcans from themselves. Not even Kirk had to endure such pain and suffering during his years around Mr. Spock. The flashback scenes were pretty cool. Viewers got to see an older version of Surak than what was seen on TOS's ' Amok Time'. At first, Archer just wanted to get rid of what was in his head. After those flashbacks and the failed katra transfer attempt, Archer began to realize what he had to do.

Viewers get a more in depth look at the young T'Pau. It was uncertain whether it was the script or the actress, but T'Pau came across as a bit too aggressive and egotistical than what was expected. Perhaps she will mature a bit more by the time she makes another appearance in TOS.

T'Les makes another appearance. There was not near enough time in this episode to unfold the mother/daughter relationship with T'Les and T'Pol much like what was developed between the Sarek and Spock father/son drama. It didn't seem appropriate for her to die so soon. There was much that could have been developed between the two which could have been played out over the course of the season. What was seen at the end when T'Les was dying was about as good drama as what was going to be seen in the limited network airtime real-estate.

V'Las came across as a very strong and determined vulcan character, though his agenda was a bit contorted. Given the overall story theme, it seemed as though T'Pau should be taken at center stage as an important and strong character. However, this and the previous episode has built up V'Las as a focal character with a head-on collision with Archer. Nevertheless, it should be interesting to see how V'Las ends up in next weeks episode.

Once again, Soval has taken the lead as everyone's favorite vulcan. He continues to fight and do what is right and logical. His motives and actions have been very Vulcan in the traditional sense. Quite refreshing!

Tid Bits -

1) Mayweather puts wings on a shuttlepod and tries to fly it.

2) Soval has an affinity for humans.

3) The young T'Pau looks kinda hot!

What it all means -
Surak has returned.
3 cool peace signs
