Jim Winter started collecting pingames around 1982 with the purchase of a Bally Boomerang, followed shortly by a Captain Fantastic and Wizard (both of those are still in the collection). His first NIB purchase was a WMS Diner in 1990.
Jim's collection loosely follows a theme of cars, motorcycles and 50's-60's pop culture. His rec room pays homage to a typical diner with it's original Bastain-Blessings soda fountain, two Wurlitzer jukes, oak phone booth and a sofa made from a 1957 Chevy. An abundance of soda signs, neon items and traffic lights complete the atmosphere. A 1955 Pepsi "slider" offers cold refreshments after a hot game of pinball and a collection of gumball vendors yield a variety of sweet treats!
Jim's other hobbies include antique and "hot rod" cars such as his restored 1930 Model A Coupe, a 1970 454 LS-5 Corvette roadster and his 1934 Ford Coupe street rod. He also collects petroliana, which is anything that was found in older gas stations. He owns gas pumps dating from 1910 through the late 1970's, with many original gasoline signs covering the walls of his garage.
Pinball, hot rods and rock-n-roll......it doesn't get any better than that!
