Hi.  My name is Mark.  I’m a Scorpio and I dig long walks on the beach….no wait, wrong bio.  My fascination with pinball started in the mid-1970’s at a local arcade called, appropriately enough “The Escape Hatch”.  As a pre-teen, I’d go there every chance I could to take on “Gangbusters” – a shooting game of the late 60’s-early ‘70’s era,  Whirly Bird- a helicopter game, Space Race- an incredibly simplistic video game, and pin games like Bally Wizard, Bally Hi-Deal, and Old Chicago.  As the years went on, the solid state games appeared like Bobby Orr Power Play, Evil Knievel, Harlem Globetrotters, and Paragon.  After a brief flirtation with videos such as Galaga, PacMan and Crazy Climber, I eventually would return to the pins.

With the advent of another arcade in town (The Corner Pocket), I had many exciting pinball options to take on.  CP had Globetrotters, Flight 2000 (my favorite game at the time), a Rolling Stones (with that back glass which would make any Teen-ager feel a little odd), Nine Ball, Eight Ball Deluxe LE, and the list goes on.  Jump forward to 1999 when my industrious little brother (also a WVPPC Member) Steve checked into getting a pinball machine on this new “Ebay” online place.  Thanks to his initiative, I have been able to re-live my childhood/teen-age years and pass along my love of all things pinball to my children.  As my fortieth birthday rapidly approaches, I fondly remember the fleeting days of youth and will “hold onto sixteen as long as I can”

When I’m not “playing”, I run a small real estate appraisal business in the capital city of Charleston, WV, sing with the WV Symphony Chorus, and perform with Seneca Chamber Orchestra whenever they do light opera productions.
