| WHAT YOU CAN DO: |
If after reading the information in this website you agree that the United States needs a national Presidential Primary, or if this site already echoes your opinion on the subject, you may be wondering what you can do to help change our nominating process. I know this will be a challenge. Neither major party seems interested such a radical reform of our current system. Despite a few recent exceptions mentioned elsewhere in this site, the major media almost never mention the idea either. This does not mean we cannot put a spotlight on the issue. There are several ways to get attention for the national Presidential Primary (a list of addresses follows). Contact the national offices of the Republican and Democratic parties and tell them you support reforming the way they choose their nominee for President. Also do the same with your State party committees (you can find their address at the national committee sites too). Also, you could discuss it with your county or local Democratic/Republican Central Committee, though unless you are from a large influential county or region, it may not get far. Contact your Congressional Representative and Senators, especially if they serve on the Governmental Affairs, Budget, or Appropriations (the committee that appropriates the money for everything) Committees. Above all, tell others about the one-day national Presidential Primary when in a discussion about electing the President. We see how powerful the internet has become in influencing national politics, so let's use it! Go on some political/election blogs that allow posting and bring up the National Primary idea. If you follow any major politician, political pundit, journalist, etc. on Twitter, then Tweet something whenever the topic of Presidential elections comes up. Likewise if they have a Facebook, Myspace, etc. page. Post messages on some of the many political USENET newsgroups or bulletin boards on political decussion websites. Bring it up in a political chat site. Let's get the issue out there for all Americans to think about.
