6:00 PM Planning Meeting at Washington United Methodist Church - Chapman

Feb. 6

Davis Anderson Memorial (Allohak Council) Pinewood Derby @ Grand Central Mall

         This race is optional for Pack members. 

         Registration and payment of $4/Cub Scout due to Scout Service Center by Jan. 27.

Feb. 7

100th Anniversary of Scouting

Scout Sunday– Washington United Methodist Church – Steele

10:30 AM Meet at front entrance to Washington United Methodist Church if participating in the service

10:50 AM if just attending service

11:00 AM Worship service

All pack members (Cub Scouts and parents) will sit together.

Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will help with passing out bulletins (2), present colors (4), lead the Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of the service, usher (4), liturgist (1), children’s sermon (1), acolyte (1).

Lori Hawkins will coordinate slide show.

Den Leaders need to bring Cub Scout crafts and other items for a display table.

Skiing at Winterplace

The Boy Scouts sponsor three days of skiing each year at Winterplace, near Beckley at reduced daily prices.  Costs are:

         Skiing & Meal $49 (lift ticket, lessons, rentals, & meal ticket)

         Tubing all day pass and meal $42

         Tubing 2 hour Pass $12.50 (9:00 am to 5:00 pm at 2 hour intervals)

         Snowboarding $88 (lift ticket, with board rental and meal)

         Snowboarding $49 (lift ticket and meal, without board rental)

         Additional Meal tickets available @ $6.00

 

The dates for this year are January 10, 2010, February 21, 2010 and March 7, 2010.  Advance registration is requested by the Thursday prior to each date and will allow you to avoid long lines at Winterplace.  Each family will need to make their own reservations by contacting the scout office.  Additional information will be posted on the council web site. 

 

BSA policy now requires the use of helmets for downhill skiing, snowboarding and the operation of snowmobiles. Winterplace Ski Resort will provide helmets free of charge.

 

Blue & Gold Banquet

Set Up: Everyone who is available. Mike Steele will determine table arrangement.

Paper products supplied by the Pack (Angela Stump)

Mike Murphy will have space derby kits for sale

Grace:  Pastor Calvert

Carry-in dinner:  Each family is to bring an entrée, vegetable or dessert, and 2 liter.  Bring enough to feed your family and a little extra.  If you have a large group, consider bringing multiple items.

Lori Hawkins will coordinate slide show.

Decorations:  Each Den to decorate tables.  Decorations will be judged by the Church representatives.  Winning Den will get a pizza party.

Dessert competition:  Each Cub Scout and their adult partner are encouraged to make a dessert and enter it into a dessert competition.  The silent auction proceeds will go to the Pack treasury.  This dessert is in addition to the carry-in dinner and will be taken home by the winner rather than eaten at the banquet.  Awards will be presented to the top three desserts with the highest bids. 
Lee Barnhouse will coordinate trophies. 
Bid sheets will be supplied by Greg Chapman.

Ceremony:  The awards ceremony will be held in the sanctuary following the banquet.
