New...Poodle Skirt Graphic!
How did this "Poodle Skirt Graphic" get started? Well, I decided I wanted to design some of those cute "Stick" dolls and what better to place on their skirts than the retro 50's poodle? I started searching the web high and low for information on the Poodle Skirts. I found the instructions for making the skirt were fairly easy to find, but the Poodle Graphic for them was next to impossible. Of the two free patterns I did find were for doll clothes, very tiny and the Poodle didn't even look like a Poodle. So instead of taking a short cut I had to make my own Poodle. I also discovered that these Poodle Skirts are used in Retro or 50's Parties, used as children's costumes, and just a reminder to "back in the day" for some. As said previously, the instructions/pattern for making the skirt itself are fairly easy to find, so search the web for "Poodle Skirt." And if you desire to design your own Poodle for your skirt, here's my Poodle Graphic that I hope you'll enjoy and find useful in your project. Feel free to resize it as needed. I have two separate graphics of it; one being a piece pattern graphic and the other is the plain graphic. Click on the thumbnails below to view actual size graphics and save to your own hard drive for printing out later. (Rest your mouse on the graphic till the "Resize button" appears to see actual size of 500 X 500.) Use the "Back" button on your browser to return to this page.
Graphic for cutting out, using as pattern for your own preferences.
Plain graphic for use as a stitch pattern on pillows, blouses, and etc.
Original graphic view without color coded parts. This is what your finished project should look like.
To complete the look for a costume, sew a leash from poodle to skirt top on skirt, wear Black and White Oxfords (also known as Saddle Shoes), Penny Loafers, or Flat White Tennis Shoes, a matching short sleeve blouse, scarf tied around neck, and hair in a ponytail. (Smaller scale of Poodle can also be used on blouse, top right side.)
