Part of being good Parrot Heads means giving something back to our communities. "Leave it better than you found it " is a common motto with Parrot Heads. All of the nationally sanctioned chapters of Parrot Heads In Paradise, Inc. are involved in helping those in need. Whether it be an organized fund raiser for a recognized charity, a beach sweep, or any other activity that will benefit others in our communities, Parrot Heads all over the country are proving to be invaluable to charitable organizations in their areas. Here are just some of the efforts that our club has been involved in. Adopt-A-Road Project
In March 2011, we began a project that we hope will continue in the future. We signed up for the city's Adopt a Road Program and selected a 1.5 mile stretch of road on Sallier St, between Lake St and the Port of Lake Charles. On March 26th we had about 40 of our members join together and picked up litter and then gathered for burgers & margaritas at Glenn & Nancy Rogers' house. It was a wonderful day and we hope that it is just the first of many more to come.
