This is Rocky Point as seen from the Patrick's Point Overlook. Trails branch from the Rim Trail down to Rocky Point and Abalone Point. The bouldery shoreline between Rocky Point and Abalone Point is rough but passable in calm weather at low tide. Harbor seals often rest on the rocks near shore. But keep well away from the ocean in rough weather, and know the tide schedule before venturing too far out onto the rocks. As can be seen above, the route to the near-shore rocks is submerged at high tide.
