If The Crown Fits












This tutorial was written by QueenBrat on 11/05/2008 using PSP 9 and Animation Shop. Any version of PSP should work.

It is an beginners tutorial. You will need a good working knowledge of PSP and Animation shop.

Supplies Needed
PSP program of your choice (Free trial version PSP12 here.)
Animation Shop (Trial version here.)
One Tubes.
Scrap kit of your choice.
Two Fonts of your choice.

****A NOTE ABOUT THE TUBE I USED FROM CILM---The tube is still in the package. The girl with the black dress is the 5th one in the new preview. She is wearing a red dress with a pink purse. This tube package has multiple layers on each of the 6 tubes pictured. There is actually about 18 tubes in the package.***

1. Open a 700x700 transparent frame. Hereafter this will be your working graphic.

2. Open one of the castle files from the kit or one of your choosing. I used: QBD_DreamPrincess_castle01.png

3. Resize the castle to 400x400 pixels and sharpen as needed.

4. Paste as a new layer into your working graphic. Add a drop shadow of Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 16 , Blur: 20.79 , Color: #000000

5. Open three of the could files from the kit or clouds of your choosing. I used: QBD_DreamPrincess_cloud2.png and QBD_DreamPrincess_cloud1.png and QBD_DreamPrincess_cloud4.png.

6. Resize the clouds to 50% of the original file size.

7. Past the coulds each as a separte layer into your working graphic. Arrange them to your liking at the base of the castle. Add a drop shadow to each cloud of Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 16 , Blur: 20.79 , Color: #000000

8. Merge visible.

9. Go to Selection > Select all

10. Selections > float

11. Selections > Invert.

12. Selections > Modify > Feather > Set to 10 > OK.

13. Click Delete twice. Deselect.

14. Resize only the castle/cloud image you have made to 85% of the original.

15. Move the castle/cloud image to the upper right part of the working graphic.



16. Select one of the cloud papers from the kit or one of your choosing. I used: QBD_DreamPrincess_Paper14.jpg.

17. Copy and paste the paper into your working graphic and send to the bottom.

18. Open the mask file WSL_Mask254.jpg provided in the zip or one of your liking.

19. Apply the mask to your background layer. Layers > New Mask Layer > From Image > Select from drop down > Tic Source Luminance > OK.

20. Merge Group.

21. Add a new raster layer and drop to the bottom. Flood fill with #FFFFFF.

22. Open the QBD_DreamPrincess_wordart01.png word art file from the kit or make your own.

23. Resize to 50% of the original file size.

24. Copy and paste as the new top layer into your working graphic. Add a drop shadow of Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 63 , Blur: 2.00 , Color: #000000

25. Open your tube. Copy and paste it into your working graphic and position/resize as desired. Add a drop shadow of Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 63 , Blur: 29.70 , Color: #000000

26. Open the file QBD_DreamPrincess_swirl02.png. Resize to 35% of the original file size.

27. Copy and paste as a new layer on top of your masked layer. Add a drop shadow of Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 63 , Blur: 2.00 , Color: #000000

28. Duplicate layer. Mirror layer. Flip layer. Position to your liking. Sharpen if needed.

29. Add the text to your working graphic of "I didn't as to be a" using these settings:

Create as: Vector
Font: SP Shop-a-holic
Size: 48
Stroke: 1
Font Style: BOLD
Alignment: Center
Anti-alias: Smooth
Kerning: 0
Foreground: #8b6dbc
Background: #f480b1


(This goes above "Princess".)

30. Add a drop shadow of Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 63 , Blur: 2.00 , Color: #000000

31. Add the text to your working graphic of "but if the crown fits..." using these settings:

Create as: Vector
Font: SP Shop-a-holic
Size: 30
Stroke: 1
Font Style: BOLD
Alignment: Center
Anti-alias: Smooth
Kerning: 0
Foreground: #8b6dbc
Background: #f480b1


(This goes below "Princess".)

32. Add a drop shadow of Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 63 , Blur: 2.00 , Color: #000000

33. Resize your working graphic to your desired size.

34. Add your copyright info and logo/watermark to your working graphic.

35. Merge flatten.

36. Increase your canvas size adding 50 pixels to the bottom to make room for your name.

37. Add the text to your working graphic of "but if the crown fits..." using these settings:

Create as: Vector
Font: Miss Lankfort
Size: 72
Stroke: 1
Font Style: BOLD
Alignment: Center
Anti-alias: Smooth
Kerning: 0
Foreground: NULL
Background: #8b6dbc


38. Add a drop shadow of Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 63 , Blur: 2.00 , Color: #000000

39. Merge Flatten. For non-animated stop here and save. For animated save to an easily accessed area of your harddrive.

40. Open Animation shop.

41. Open your working graphic in animation shop.

42. Open the Stars.gif animation included in the supplies zip file.

43. Copy your working graphic. Paste as a new layer after current frame. Repeat until you have 6 frames.

44. Select all frames.

45. Go to your stars animation. Select all frames and copy.

46. Go back to your working animation. Select two frames of your animation and add a star by pasting it into the selected frames.

47. Select two more frames and add another star.

48. Continue adding stars to your working graphic until satisfied. Remember that you can reverse the order of the star frames and make the stars smaller if you would like to give it some variety.

49. When happy with your stars save your file as a .gif and enjoy!
