Sexy Is What Sexy Does












This tutorial was written by QueenBrat on 05/10/2009 using PSP 9. Any version of PSP should work.

It is an intermediate tutorial.

The scrap kit used in this tutorial is "Go Red For Women" and can be purchase at my store here.

Supplies Needed:
PSP program of your choice (Free trial version PSP12 here.)
Animation Shop (Download Free trial version here.)
Tubes of your choice (one head shot & one full body)
Font of your Choice
Scrap kit of choice

1. Download template: missy_tagtemplate215.psd from Missy's blog site.

2. Open the template in your PSP program.

3. Delete the copyright layer and the white background layer.

4. Increase your cavas size to 700x700 pixels by adding 50 pixels to the top, 215 pixels to the bottom, 32 pixels to the left, and 33 pixels to the right.

5. This is now your working graphic.

6. Go to the circle2 layer. Go to SELECTIONS > SELECT ALL > SELECTIONS > FLOAT > SELECTIONS > MODIFY > EXPAND=1 > SELECTIONS > INVERT.

7. Open a paper from your kit. I used: QBD_GoRedForWomen_Paper04.png.

8. Resize the paper to 500x500 pixels.

9. Copy and paste the paper into your working graphic as a new layer on top of the circle2 layer.

10. Center the portion of the paper that you want to fill the circle over the highlighted circle area. Click delete. Deselect and merge down.

11. Go to the circle layer. Go to SELECTIONS > SELECT ALL > SELECTIONS > FLOAT > SELECTIONS > MODIFY > EXPAND=1.

12. Open another paper from your kit. I used: QBD_GoRedForWomen_Paper05.jpg.

13. Flood fill the circle layer with your paper. Deselect.

14. Open one of the open center hearts from your kit. I used: QBD_GoRedForWomen_Heart02.png. Resize to 400x373 pixels.

15. Copy and paste into your working graphic as a new layer. Move it to the bottom. Position in the top left.

16. Reposition the "circle" layer by moving it down so that it's in the center left area.

17. Go to the Sexy temp layer. Go to: SELECTIONS > SELECT ALL > SELECTIONS > FLOAT > SELECTIONS > MODIFY > EXPAND=1.

18. Flood fill this with #000000.

19. Duplicate the layer and go to the bottom one.

20. With it still highlighted go to: SELECTIONS > MODIFY > EXPAND=5.

21. Flood fill the selected area with #FFFFFF.

22. Merge the two "Sexy temp" layers together.

23. Open the file QBD_GoRedForWomen_Flower02.png from your kit. Resize to 350x354 pixels.

24. Copy and paste the flower into your working graphic as a new layer on top of your "sexy temp" layer. Position at the bottom right area just under the word sexy. I allowed mine to slightly cover the bottom of the letters.

25. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 62, Blur: 15.84, Color: #000000.

26. Open the file: QBD_GoRedForWomen_Beads01.png in your kit. Resize to 650x145 pixels.

27. Copy and paste the beads into your working graphic on top of your flower layer. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 62, Blur: 15.84, Color: #000000.

28. Add a new raster layer and send it to the bottom.

29. Open another paper from your kit and flood fill the bottom layer.

30. Open the mask QBD_SequinMist_Mask.jpg from your supplies zip.

31. Apply the mask to your flood filled layer. LAYERS > NEW MASKED LAYER > FROM IMAGE > SOURCE LUMINACE > LOCATE IN DROPDOWN > CLICK OKAY.

32. Merge the masked group.

33. Add another new raster layer. Send it to the bottom. Flood fill with #FFFFFF or color/paper you want for the background.

34. Open the file: QBD_DiamondCircle.png. Copy and paste it into your working graphic on top of your "Circle2" layer. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 62, Blur: 15.84, Color: #000000.

35. Resize the Diamond Circle to 334x334 pixels.

36. Copy and paste a second diamond circle into your working graphic on top of the "circle" layer. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 62, Blur: 15.84, Color: #000000.

37. Open your tube of choice. I used Keith Garvey's Candy Apple tube.

38. Copy and paste your tube into your working graphic as your new top layer. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 62, Blur: 15.84, Color: #000000.

39. Go to the layer just below your tube layer and add your name. Here are the settings I used:
Create as: Vector
Font: Battlelines
Size: 84
Stroke: 4.0
Font style: BOLD
Alignment: Center
Anti-alias: Smooth
Kerning: 0
Foreground: #FFFFFF
Background: #000000


40. Convert to a raster layer. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: -2, Horizontal: -2, Opacity: 62, Blur: 4.00, Color: #000000.

41. Resize your working graphic to the size that you desire.

42. Add your copyright information and your watermark/logo to your graphic.

43. Go to your open heart layer. With your magic wand highlight the area inside of the heart.

44. Go to SELECTIONS > MODIFY > EXPAND=5

45. Add a new raster layer and move it under the open heart layer.

46. Open a paper from your kit. I used: QBD_GoRedForWomen_Paper05.jpg.

47. Flood fill the highlighted area with your paper.

48. Duplicate it to three layers.

49. Go to the first heart filled layer.

50. Open your Xero Fritillary plugin.

51. Apply the following settings: Granularity=9, Aggression=143, Tesselation=12, Variation=21

52. Go to the second heart filled layer.

53. Open your Xero Fritillary plugin.

54. Apply the following settings: Granularity=9, Aggression=143, Tesselation=12, Variation=39

55. Go to the third heart filled layer.

56. Open your Xero Fritillary plugin.

57. Apply the following settings: Granularity=9, Aggression=143, Tesselation=12, Variation=64

58. Turn the visibility off to your second and third heart fill layers.

59. Copy merged and paste as a new image. This is your new working graphic.

60. Go back to your first working graphic. Turn the visibility off on the first heart fill and on on the second heart fill layer.

61. Copy merged and paste into your new working graphic as a new layer.

62. Go back to your first working graphic. Turn the visibility off on the second heart fill and on on the third heart fill layer.

63. Copy merged and paste into your new working graphic as a new layer.

64. The rest of this tutorial will be working with the new working graphic you just created.

65. Using your Freehand selection tool highlight the following areas: earrings, necklace, belly ring, ankle bracelet, and the trim on her swim suit and shoes.



66. Open your Xenoflex Constellation plugin. Apply the following to your first layer.



67. Go to your second layer and apply the same settings with one exception. Change the random seed to 7541.

68. Go to your third layer and apply the same settings but change the random seed to 2467.

69. Save your working graphic to an easily found place on your hard drive.

70. Open animation shop.

71. Open your working graphic in animation shop.

72. Set your frame speed to your liking. Mine is set at 17.

73. Save your graphic as a .gif image.
