Shot Like A Meteor












This tutorial was written by QueenBrat on 07/04/2009 using PSP 9. Any version of PSP should work.

It is a beginners tutorial.

The scrap kit used in this tutorial is "Femme Fatale" and can be purchased at MyPSPTubes.com.

Supplies Needed:
PSP program of your choice (Free trial version PSP12 here.)
Tube of your choice
Font of your Choice
Scrap kit of choice

1. Open a 700x700 pixel transparent frame. This will be your working graphic.

2. Open a paper from your kit. I used: QBD_FemmeFatale_Paper03.jpg.

3. Flood fill your working graphic with your paper.

4. Open the mask: WSL_Mask81.jpg in your supplies zip.

5. Apply the mask to your flood filled layer. LAYERS > NEW MASKED LAYER > FROM IMAGE > SOURCE LUMINANCE > LOCATE IN DROP DOWN > CLICK OKAY.

6. Merge masked group.

7. Open the frame QBD_FemmeFatale_Frame18.png from your kit. Resize to 500x500 pixels. Copy and paste into your working graphic as a new layer. Position toward the top of frame.

8. Open the frame QBD_FemmeFatale_Frame15.png from your kit. Resize to 475x474 pixels. Copy and paste into your working graphic as a new layer. Position centered on top of the first frame.

9. Open your tube of choice. Resize the tube to fit the frame center. I resized to 75% of the original.

10. Copy your tube and paste into your working graphic as a new layer on top of your masked layer. Position to your liking inside of your frame area.

11. Using your freehand selection tool highlight any portion of your tube that is outside of the center frame area and delete it.

12. Reposition the masked layer under your other frames to your liking.

13. Go to your top frame layer and merge with the lace frame.

14. Add a drop shadow to your frames of: vertical: 1, horizontal: 1, Opacity: 75, Blur: 3.0, color: #000000

15. Open two of the ribbon frames from your kit. I used: QBD_FemmeFatale_RibbonFrame01.png and QBD_FemmeFatale_RibbonFrame03.png.

16. Copy and paste the GREEN ribbon frame into your graphic as the new top layer. Rotate 17 degrees to the left. Sharpen as needed. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: 1, horizontal: 1, Opacity: 75, Blur: 13.86, color: #000000

17. Copy and paste the BLUE ribbon frame into your graphic as the new top layer. Rotate 20 degrees to the left. Sharpen as needed. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: 1, horizontal: 1, Opacity: 75, Blur: 13.86, color: #000000

18. Open the ivy (QBD_FemmeFatale_Ivy01.png) in your kit. Resize to 500x445 pixels. Copy and paste the ivy into your working graphic under your ribbon frames. Mirror the image and position under the bows on the ribbon frames to your liking. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: 1, horizontal: 1, Opacity: 75, Blur: 13.86, color: #000000

19. Open a long stem rose from your kit. I used: QBD_FemmeFatale_Rose05.png. Resize the rose to no more than 500 pixels in height. (Width will vary depending on which rose you use.)

20. copy and paste the rose into your working graphic as the new top layer. Rotate 25 degrees to the left. Sharpen as needed. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: 1, horizontal: 1, Opacity: 75, Blur: 13.86, color: #000000

21. Open one of the sequin strings in your kit. I used: QBD_FemmeFatale_SequinString01.png. Resize to 300x228 pixels. Paste the sequin string into your working graphic as a new layer under your rose. Position over the knot of your ribbon frame bow. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: 1, horizontal: 1, Opacity: 75, Blur: 13.86, color: #000000

22. Duplicate the sequin string layer. Position over the knot of your ribbon frame bow.

23. Open a flower from your kit. I used: QBD_FemmeFatale_Flowers07.png. Resize the flower to approximately 75x75 pixels.

24. Copy and paste several small flowers into your graphic. Place them randomly to your liking. Use your mirror and flip to give them some varying angles. Add a drop shadow to each flower of: vertical: 1, horizontal: 1, Opacity: 75, Blur: 13.86, color: #000000

25. Increase your canvas size to 800x800 pixels by adding 100 pixels to the bottom and the right side of your graphic.

26. Open the bow QBD_FemmeFatale_Bow14.png in your kit or one that is similar. Resize the bow to 220x400 pixels. Copy and paste the bow into your working graphic as the new top layer. Mirror the image and rotate 10 degrees to the right. Postion over the knot area of your ribbon frames. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: 1, horizontal: 1, Opacity: 75, Blur: 13.86, color: #000000

27. Open the bow QBD_FemmeFatale_Bow12.png in your kit or one that is similar. Resize the bow to 220x400 pixels. Copy and paste the bow into your working graphic as the new top layer. Postion over the knot area of your ribbon frames. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: 1, horizontal: 1, Opacity: 75, Blur: 13.86, color: #000000

28. Open one of the butterflies from your kit. I used: QBD_FemmeFatale_Butterfly01.png. Resize the butterfly to 150x131 pixels. Copy and paste the butterfly into your working graphic. Position to your liking. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: 1, horizontal: 1, Opacity: 75, Blur: 13.86, color: #000000

29. Duplicate the butterfly layer and mirror the image. Position to your liking.

30. Add your favorite "Twilight" quote to your tag or use mine. I used the following settings to add the quote "...And then you shot across my sky like a meteor...":
Create as: Vector
Font: BernhardFashionBT
Size: 48
Stroke: 1.5
Alignment: Center
Anti-alias: Smooth
Leading: -0.20
Foreground:#0f1d0f
Background:#425642


33. Convert to a raster layer. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: 1, horizontal: 1, Opacity: 75, Blur: 13.86, color: #000000 (Don't forget to give credit for the quote used. My quote's credits are 'Edward', New Moon, Stephenie Meyer. Any font will do.)

32. Add your name to your graphic. These are the settings that I used:
Create as: Vector
Font: Mon Amour Script Pro
Size: 48
Stroke: 1.5
Alignment: Center
Anti-alias: Smooth
Kerning: 0
Foreground:#0f1d0f
Background:#425642


33. Rotate your name to the left. Convert to a raster layer. Add a drop shadow of: vertical: 1, horizontal: 1, Opacity: 75, Blur: 13.86, color: #000000

34. Resize your graphic to your liking.

35. Add your copyright information and your watermark/logo.

36. Merge visible and save as a .png image OR you can add a new raster layer and drop to the bottom and fill it with your color or paper of choice.
