We Give Thanks
This tutorial was written by QueenBrat on 11/08/2008 using PSP 9. Any version of PSP should work.
It is an intermediate tutorial. You will need a good working knowledge of PSP..

Supplies Needed
PSP program of your choice (Free trial version PSP12 here.)
Tube of your choice.
Scrap kit of your choice.
DBS Flux Blast plugin (Freeware download available here.)
Two fonts of your choice.
Provided supplies

(Your pop up stoppers will need to be turned off if you click the link and nothing happens.)
1. Open a 700x375 pixel transparent frame. This will be your working graphic.
2. Open three complementing papers from your kit. I used QBD_GobbleGobble_Paper03.jpg, QBD_GobbleGobble_Paper07.jpg, and QBD_GobbleGobble_Paper15.jpg.
3. Flood fill your working graphic with one of your background papers.
4. Go to SELECTIONS > SELECT ALL > MODIFY > CONTRACT=20.
5. Add a new raster layer.
6. Flood fill the selected area of your working graphic with your second background paper.
7. Go to SELECTIONS > MODIFY > CONTRACT=25.
8. Add a new raster layer.
9. Flood fill the selected area of your working graphic with your third background paper.
10. Go to your bottom layer.
11. Go to SELECTIONS > SELECT ALL > SELECTIONS > FLOAT.
12. Go to EFFECTS > 3D EFFECTS > CUTOUT > SETTINGS: Vertical: 5, Horizontal: -7, Opacity: 52, Blur: 16.83, Shadow color: #000000
13. Go to EFFECTS > 3D EFFECTS > CUTOUT > SETTINGS: Vertical: -7, Horizontal: 5, Opacity: 52, Blur: 16.83, Shadow color: #000000
14. Deselect.
15. Go to layer 2. Go to SELECTIONS > SELECT ALL > SELECTIONS > FLOAT.
16. Go to EFFECTS > 3D EFFECTS > CUTOUT > SETTINGS: Vertical: -1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 52, Blur: 16.83, Shadow color: #000000
17. Go to your top layer.
18. Apply your DBS Flux Blast filter with the following settings:
Direction: Upwards
Absolute: 17
19. Apply your DBS Flux Blast filter a second time with following settings:
Direction: Right
Absolute: 17
20. Apply your DBS Flux Blast filter a third time with following settings:
Direction: Downward
Absolute: 17
21. Apply your DBS Flux Blast filter a forth time with following settings:
Direction: Left
Absolute: 17
22. Merge all layers. Resize to 550x295 pixels.
23. Open a new 700x375 pixel transparent frame.
24. Flood fill with one of your three background papers. I used: QBD_GobbleGobble_Paper03.jpg
25. Open the mask WSL_Mask116.jpg.
26. Apply the mask to the flood filled layer. Merge Flatten.
27. Copy and paste your framing from your working graphic on top of the merged mask graphic as a new layer. This is now your working graphic.
28. Add a new raster layer to the top of your working graphic.
29. Open your tube.
30. Copy and paste your tube into your new layer. Resize to your liking. Don't worry about the excess tube, we will remove that in a later step.
31. Copy and paste a second copy of your tube as a new layer. Resize to your liking. Don't worry about the excess tube, we will remove that in a later step.
32. Copy and paste a third copy of your tube as a new layer. Resize to your liking. Don't worry about the excess tube, we will remove that in a later step.
33. Go to your frame layer. With your magic wand set to a feather of 10 click on your center section.
34. Go to SELECTIONS > INVERT.
35. Go to each tube layer and click delete to remove the excess tube. Deselect. It should now look like this:
36. Go to your frame layer. With your magic wand set to a feather of 10 click on your center section.
37. Add a new raster layer to the top of your working graphic.
38. Open the file QBD_CheckedBlur_Texture.jpg from the zip file and add to your textures file.
39. Flood fill the selected area using the following settings:
Match mode: RGB Value
Tolerance: 20
Blend Mode: Normal
Opacity: 20
Background color: #a3883d (or one of your liking)
40. Flood fill the selected area a second time using the following settings:
Match mode: RGB Value
Tolerance: 20
Blend Mode: Normal
Opacity: 20
Background color: #a3883d (or one of your liking)
Texture: QBD_CheckedBlur_Texture.jpg
41. Deselect. Merge flatten.
42. Add a new raster layer to the top of your working graphic.
43. Go to your SELECTION tool and set it to RECTANGLE with no feather.
44. Draw a rectangle extending from the edge of the frame on the left to the edge of the frame on the right.
45. Flood fill the selected area using the following settings:
Match mode: RGB Value
Tolerance: 70
Blend Mode: Normal
Opacity: 20
Foreground color: #7a602a(or one of your liking)
Background color: #af9946(or one of your liking)
Set the foreground to gradient and use the foreground-background gradient setting. (Angle=0 Repeats=0)
46. Using your text tool add the wording "We Give Thanks". I used these settings:
Create as: Vector
Font:BernhardMod BT
Size:48
Stroke:1.0
Font style: BOLD
Alignment: Center
Anti-alias: Smooth
Kerning: -50
Foreground color: #5e4f37(or one of your liking)
Background color: #a1863a(or one of your liking)
47. Convert text to raster layer.
48. Duplicate the text layer.
49. Go to the bottom text layer and apply DBS flux blast with these settings:
Direction: Right
Percentage: 7%
50. Go to the top text layer. Add noise using these settings: Gaussian, Monochrome, Noise=26.
51. Add a drop shadow to the top text layer. Settings: Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 81, Blur: 1.0, Color: #000000.
52. Increase your canvas size by adding 125 pixels to the bottom of your working graphic.
52. Open a string bow from the kit. I used QBD_GobbleGobble_StringBow02.png. Resize it to 550x211 pixels.
53. Copy and paste into your working graphic as the top layer. I placed mine at the bottom of the word art banner on the tag.
Add a drop shadow: Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 81, Blur: 8.91, Color: #000000.
54. Open two co-ordinating leaves from the kit. I used: QBD_GobbleGobble_Leaf03.png and QBD_GobbleGobble_Leaf06.png. Resize leaves to
200x200 pixels.
55. Copy and paste the first leaf into your working graphic under your string ribbon layer. Mirror and flip the leaf. Position leaf so that
it appears it is tied into the knot on the string ribbon.
Add a drop shadow: Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 81, Blur: 8.91, Color: #000000.
56. Copy and paste the second leaf into your working graphic on top of the first leaf layer. Flip the leaf and rotate it to the left 30 degrees. (Sharpen if needed).
Add a drop shadow: Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 81, Blur: 8.91, Color: #000000.
57. Open two co-ordinating flowers from the kit. I used: QBD_GobbleGobble_Flower08.png and QBD_GobbleGobble_Flower11.png. Resize the lighter flower to 125x127 pixels and the darker flower to 150x152 pixels.
58. Copy and past the darker-larger flower into your working graphic as a new layer on top of your leaves. Position above and to the right of the eyelet on the right side of the tag.
Add a drop shadow: Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 81, Blur: 8.91, Color: #000000.
59. Copy and past the lighter-smaller flower into your working graphic as a new layer on top of your larger flower. Position above and to the left of the eyelet on the right side of the tag.
Add a drop shadow: Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 81, Blur: 8.91, Color: #000000.
60. Copy and past the lighter-smaller flower into your working graphic as a new layer on top of your larger flower. Position below and to the right of the eyelet on the right side of the tag.
Add a drop shadow: Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 81, Blur: 8.91, Color: #000000.
61. Copy and past the darker-larger flower into your working graphic as a new layer as the top layer. Flip and mirror the image. Position randomly in the white area on the left side of the tag.
Add a drop shadow: Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 81, Blur: 8.91, Color: #000000.
62. Copy and past the lighter-smaller flower into your working graphic as a new layer on top of your larger flower. Position a little lower and to the right of the larger flower on the left side of the tag.
Add a drop shadow: Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 81, Blur: 8.91, Color: #000000.
63. Resize to your desired tag size.
64. Add your copyright information and your logo/watermark.
65. Now lets add your name. I used a fat script font and a paper from my kit as the fill.
Here are my settings:
Create as: Vector
Font: Anna Nicole NF
Size: 72
Stoke: 1.5
Font style: BOLD
Alignment: Center
Anti-alias: Smooth
Leading: -0.400
Kerning: 0
Foreground color: #5e4f37
Background color: paper 4 from kit (QBD_GobbleGobble_Paper08.jpg)
66. Convert to raster layer.
67. Go to SELECTIONS > SELECT ALL > SELECTIONS > FLOAT.
68. Go to EFFECTS > 3D EFFECTS > CUTOUT > SETTINGS: Vertical: 2, Horizontal: -2, Opacity: 51, Blur: 4.00 Shadow color: #000000
69. Add a drop shadow: Vertical: 1, Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 81, Blur: 8.91, Color: #000000.
70. Save your work. Your done!
