First pieced quilt - Marcella was my teacher. QIAD pattern.

Very first quilt. Great Auntie Pearl had started this quilt and gave me about a third of it. I finished it the summer before my senior year in high school.

A snowball/nine patch quilt. First quilt made after I retired.
I believe Naomi has this quilt now. I quilted all the grandchildrens names in the snowballs.

Cake plate quilt. I really was not happy with the final result so added some bows. Marcella liked the quilt so she has it hanging in her house but without the bows!

This is a "Granny Square" quilt. Named after the crocheted ganny squares we've all made.
I believe this went home with Will.

This is an "Around the World" wall hanging that I've named "Grandma's Candy Dish." I used the colors that were in a candy dish that belonged to Grandma Mabel. This hangs in our library.

This pattern was called "Lover's Knot" but I was making it for a college freshman so named it "Student Study Knot" just for her. This was made for Becky's daughter.

A Grandma quilt made for Grandma Geri, a very good friend.

Frog Pond hangs in our front guest bathroom. It has been promised to Naomi, when I'm done with it.

This is a "watercolor" quilt wall hanging. This was sent to Naomi when she was overseas.

"Good and Plenty" quilt was made for Becky's second daughter. This quilt was made following directions from a book by Yvonne Porcella. There was no pattern. I just fitten pieces and blocks together. I loved the final quilt.

I hand appliqued this sampler quilt. It took me several years to get the top finished. Now it's waiting to be quilted.

Tea pots and cups were paper pieced. Gave this quilt to Julie.

My chickens now reside with Naomi. The chickens and cherries were blanket raw edge blancket stitched to their blocks.

Silly chickens that Julie owns now. These were paper pieced and the chickens have little black snaps for eyes. Funny quilt.

A sampler quilt that was made for brother Jim and his new wife, Carol. The blocks were made by his sisters, nieces and nephews.

Redwork quilt. I hand embroidered the blocks and then hand quilted in each embroidered block. The quilt is waiting for me to finish it by machine quilting the red sashings.

Just a fun quilt. It has a flannel back to keep my toes warm in the winter. The flowers are yo-yos. The stem and leaves are machine appliqued in place.

Wedding quilt made for Jennifer and Dave. I love the magnolia fabric in this quilt.

"Cats and Flowers" made for Cindy and Laurie when they moved back to California. It's their housewarming gift.

Spring Table Runner. I was disappointed because the tulips don't really show up very much, let alone their leaves. Cindy owns this project now.

Earl's quilt. It was a "new year's day mystery quilt" that I participated in. It turned out rather large!

My "Pink Panther" was made during a 'block-of-the-month' with the quilt board one year. I loved the pink fabrics I was using. Madeline has this quilt now. She likes pink as much as her grandma!

"Fiesta" was a quilt made for the school secretary when she retired!

This is a "cheater quilt." The middle is a panel and not pieced at all. The colors were what I fell for. Cindy owns this quilt now and says she uses it a lot!

Table runner made with scraps from Cindy and Laurie's quilt. I put it out every fall. The bright leaves are just silk leaves I lay on top of the quilt for added color!

Sent this to Naomi for her nanny. Love the colors. So cheery!

"Barney Cat" was made using a pattern published by Martingale. I fell in love with this pattern while on a tour of the Martingale facility. I hand blanket stitched around the cats while we were on vacation in Maine.

This is the famous "quilt of 48!" Marcella and I were doing a block-a-week the year I made this. It took more than one year to finish it though! I love the way it finished.

Tennessee Waltz was made for Naomi and Jon. I loved the fact that this pattern was named Tennessee Waltz because 1. that's where my Mama was born and 2. I love the song. :~)

My cat quilt. This is is recognition of all the help a cat will give you with your housework!

Bought a kit to make this quilt while at a quilt show in Santa Barbara. I love how bright it turned out.
Who took it home? I have no clue! I need to keep better records!

Playing with the trash continued - this quilt was made out of scraps from all the other quilts I've made since I retired. It's a log cabin pattern.
