Purpose: The Raleigh County Citizen Corps Council (CCC) brings community leaders together to coordinate the involvement of community members in emergency preparedness planning, mitigation, response and recovery.

It advises the County Emergency Manager on the development and implementation of the County’s Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) to ensure that the Plan addresses the preparedness needs of all members of the community.

Service Requirement: It is a general policy of the Citizen Corp Council to limit appointments to citizens maintaining residences within Raleigh County. Citizens not living in the County, but who work or own a business here or have a special expertise on a subject matter, may be considered for appointment at the discretion of the Citizen Corp Council.

Attend Meetings Before Application: Those interested in being appointed to a task force are encouraged to attend a meeting to determine whether its purpose and goals meet the expectations of the prospective appointee.
