The Eureka Reporter

Robert Reed's Column in the Eureka Reporter between 2004 and 2007

The Eureka Reporter was a daily newspaper published in Eureka, California between 2003 and August, 2008.  The idea was well received by the population and started online through funding by Rob Arkely of Eureka and evolved to a daily publication.  The paper fell victim to the competitive and political pressures from the other main news interest in the Humboldt Bay region, capped by a lawsuit that caused the closing of the paper with a settlement.  It was a sad day that such a suit put so many good people out of work and so many other points of view were silenced.  Those were really fun years to be a part of it!
