I'm not a big believer in weather forecasts, but what actually happens is of great interest to me. I have had an electronic weather station for a number of years, and in 1996 I added a computer interface to it so I now have electronic records of hourly weather conditions since the end of February in 1996. My records are nearly complete, but like everything else electronic there have been glitches. As I've mentioned, the records only begin at the end of February of 1996 so 1996 is not a complete year. Then the records are fairly complete until recently when I had a hard disk crash that wiped out July through September of 1999, the leap day in 2000 was not handled properly by my software, and a simultaneous power failure and battery failure caused me to lose much of the April 2, 2000 rainstorm.
My weather station is located in the Rigolette section of Rapides
Parish that you might consider Pineville, Tioga, or neither.
It has an elevation of about 98 feet above sea-level and the following
geographic coordinates:
Latitude: 31°22.823' North
Longitude: 92°28.034' West
All of my recorded data is available to anyone who it, but I've put together some common summaries for easy download.
