Bicycle Patrol

police bike slideshow - please be patient while it loadsAnother of the Ruston Police Department's specialized areas is the Bicycle Patrol. This unit consists of several volunteer officers from both the patrol and the investigative division. These officers are specially trained in patrol techniques and related areas which pertain to officers on bicycles. This unit is especially useful during civic events such as parades, ball games, and similar events where access to an area in a police car can be very restrictive. They have the ability to move about easily, quickly and quietly during the performance of their duties.
