RUSTON -- Three armed robberies in this small north
Louisiana town, in just 10 days, have prompted police to step up
patrols and warn residents to be cautious as they search for
suspects.
The first robbery happened near Louisiana Tech's campus on Oct.
28. Four people were robbed at gunpoint and the suspect took cash
and electronics. Police said the incident did not appear to be

The Z-Z Mart was robbed
Halloween night and the E-Z Mart, on the other side of town, was hit
early Monday.
"Well the patrol division will be increasing
the frequency that they check these stores at night," said Capt.
Bill Davis of the Ruston Police Department.
Investigators
don't believe the first robbery was related to the two at the
convenience stores, but they're not rulint out that the latter two
are connected.
"And they very well may be, but we have not
found anything to tie them together," Davis said.
At each
store, a lone robber took an undetermine amount of money but no one
was hurt.
Adrienne Bonner, a Ruston resident, said she was
alarmed by the crime spree.
"It is scary, kind of scary. We
do not get out much but when we do we want to be safe," she
said.
With the holiday season approaching, Davis urged
residents to be more cautious. "Always be aware of your surroundings
and park in a well lit areas if you are parking in a large parking
lot," he said.
Police are searching for suspects and leads in
all three crimes.
