A driver fleeing police caused a multi-vehicle accident Friday
afternoon on California Avenue in front of Tech Farm and Reese Hall. The chase started downtown, where the driver of a Toyota Highlander driving the wrong way on Trenton Street struck a car, backed up and struck it again while attempting to flee before getting away.
Police chased the Highlander westbound on California Avenue before it struck at least two other vehicles — a car and a pick-up — and overturned on the sidewalk of the east-bound lanes.
The driver of the Highlander crawled from the vehicle and ran from the scene before being caught by police.
