Tippmann Markers

Early Model SMG-60

Early Model Tippmann SMG-60.   Note the external gas line.    The first semi/full auto paintball gun.   Fired .60 caliber paintballs that were held in 5 round plastic stripper clips.   The box tube magazine on the side held 3 stripper clips.   There was an optional extended magazine that held 4 stripper clips.    I owned an SMG-60 breifly.    It was terribly unreliable in the field.   It would work just great when we were playing around in the yard with it.   Never could quite figure that one out.    The .60 caliber balls didn't have the range of the .68's and bounced a lot.   I've been told that these babies were deadly on densely foliaged fields.    I image so.   At short range, against pump action guns they probably would have been a real threat.   .60 caliber paint is no longer produced so the SMG-60 can be reguarded as little more than a curiosity now.

Full Auto Tippmann

Tippmann Factory Full Auto "Tippmann F/A"  Bought this marker from Dewayne.  The clutch was shot  Tippmann's tech managed to scratch the heck out of the gun by clamping it in a vice without something to protect the body.  Damage was minor but annoying.   Because of this they did not charge me for the repair.   Sold the marker on eBay for just about what I paid for it.   Very slick piece of engineering.  Fascinating to watch the twin sears on top of the gun.  Hard on paint.  Now out of production.  This one had the 'Sniper' barrel and an aftermarket verticle foregrip.
