Become a Volunteer

We are seeking adult volunteers to help our guests, visitors and staff. Our volunteers contribute in a variety of ways, and have fun doing it! We would like to talk to YOU as we need volunteers especially on the weekends. Please give us a call and let's work together to make the Ronald House the best it can possibly be for our families with ill children.

Staff Volunteers function as a mini-manager. Responsibilities include registration and check in and out of families; handling paper work and money transactions involved with the check-in and check-out process; answering phones; giving house tours, stocking supplies; and more. Staff volunteers must volunteer at least three hours a week on a regular basis. Weekday, weeknight and weekend volunteer shifts are available.

Baking Volunteers bake goodies at home and bring them to the House for our guests.

Special Event Volunteers help out with one or several of our special events during the year.

House Meals - Breakfast, lunch or dinner are all appreciated. You provide and prepare enough food for 25 people. Meals must be prepared in our kitchen or purchased from a commercial kitchen (restaurant).

Cleaning Days - Help out with general light or heavy duty cleaning. We provide cleaning supplies, you supply the energy. Groups of 20 or less are accepted.

Personal Shopper - this is a variation on our pantry drive. We are always in need of certain items. You can designate that you'd like to be a personal shopper for one of the items needed in the House (such as wash cloths, toilet seats, brooms, mops, etc.). When your designated item is needed, we'll call and ask that you purchase and deliver the items within two weeks.

Groups and individuals are always welcome to take a tour of the Ronald McDonald House. When groups visit, we can only sign up 20 at one time, so be sure to keep that in mind when calling to schedule your tour. Please call 304-346-0279 to schedule your personal tour.
