The “Cabinets” program is a fairly inexpensive utility for hiding and locking your personal folders and their contents. Use a test folder to experiment with and test the utility. Your test folder can be put in a “file cabinet” . Your folder, and its contents, will truly be inside the "cabinet" folder. A cabinet folder is often referred to as a “cab file”. Whenever you are ready, you can make your personal folders, and their contents, visible once again. Files can also be locked in a cabinet. You will be asked if you want to rename the folder being made visible whenever you protect, or unprotect, a folder. You can set a password that the program will asked for before it starts. Right-click a Cabinet folder containing several items, then select properties and take a look at the "Size". The size of the Cabinet folder will confirm that the Cabinet contains your personal folder, and its contents. The utility is rather easy to use. The user can have their personal folders and files stored in in a folder, that appears to be a file cabinet, within a minute. Open the cabinet folder and it will appear to be empty. The items stored in the cabinet will not be visible. Open a cabinet folder using the Cabinets program and your personal files and folders will become visible. The Cabinets program includes several other features. Some are security features. Some are for convenience.
