Breathing

Place your hands on the sides of your waist, with the fingers in the front and your thumbs in back. Get a good grip. You want to push in a little at the waist. Inhale deeply and as you do, try to push your hands away from each other with your diaphragm. As you exhale, moan or say om, and feel your waist go in. It may take a little while to get the hang of it. But, don't force it. The deeper the sound as you exhale, the more tension you release. You will notice the sound gets deeper of its own accord. The tension you experience in your muscles is induced by your mind. By using sound, you focus your attention within your body rather than in your mind. Do this slowly and as you do imagine you are inhaling relaxed energy and exhaling nervous tension.
