If you are a boy between the ages of 11 and 18, and live in the Jacksonville, Texas area, we would like to invite you to become part of a great adventure.   If you like (or think you would like) the outdoors, camping, swimming, hiking, backpacking, etc., you would like Scouting and you would like our Troop.  We have been to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado 11 times with our most recent trip in June, 2007.

We have also been canoeing on the Buffalo River in Arkansas, as well as numerous campouts, backpacking and hiking experiences.  We go to Summer Camp for a week each year at George W. Pirtle Scout Reservation, near Carthage, Texas, as well as camping at least once each month.  We also play many fun Scout games and work on Scout skills and crafts.

In addition to these activities, we work with each boy to advance in Scout rank, as 28 Eagle Scouts in the last 12 years can attest.  Our Troop has earned the Quality Unit award every year indicating that we meet or exceed the standards as set forth by the National Council of Boy Scouts of America.  In addition to our Scoutmaster, we have several Assistant Scoutmasters, and a Troop Committee which help with Troop activities and serve as many of the Merit Badge counselors.

If you think that you would like to become part of an exciting and fun adventure such as this, we would like to invite you (bring your parents, if you like) to pay us a visit.  Our Troop meets every Monday night from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Central Baptist Church, 1909 East Rusk Street (Henderson Hwy.-US 79), in Jacksonville.  You can find our meeting place by coming to the multi-purpose facility (metal building) east of the main facility.  Come through the glass doors and just follow the sound to good Scouting Fun!

Come visit with us!
