SPECIAL EVENT   The Hot Springs Village was 40 years old in 2010.  As part of the celebration, the Village Amateur Radio Club held a special event from April 17 to April 25.  The callsign was the club call - W5HSV.  Frequencies are 21.240, 14.240, 7.240, and 3.940 MHz (+/- 20 Kc).  No SASE is required.  A certificate will be sent to each station that makes a contact with the special event using your callbook address.  Hot Springs Village is a "ham friendly" community.  To learn more about Hot Springs Village, click here.

TOUR OF HOMES COMMUNICTION    Every two years, the Symphony guild conducts a "Tour of Homes" in the Village as a fund raiser.  Four homes are chosen and transportation is provided to persons buying a ticket for the tour.  The club provides communication using two meters between homes and the parking site to get vehicles to where the people are.  The 2010 tour was held on October 4.  To volunteer for the 2012 tour, contact K5ZRF.

FIELD DAY    Field Day in 2006 was June 24 and 25.  We made 528 contacts - 281 on CW and 247 on SSB.  We had a great time.  The dates for 2011 are June 25 and 26.

REFLECTOR     Every member of HSVARC has access to the HSVARC mail list. This is a special e-mail address (sometimes referred to as a "reflector") that provide the membership an easy way to communicate with the entire club membership. To send a message to all current club members simply address your e-mail messages to or copy:

HSVARC@mailman.qth.net

The message must not have attachments and it must be in "plain text" format.  These restrictions are imposed to assure that the space used on the QTH.COM server is reasonable and there no possibility that e-mail messages will transport a virus.

When you receive e-mail from the HSVARC mail list, you can, if you like, reply to the originator of the message by using your normal e-mail "reply" option. You can reply to the originator and all members by using your e-mail "reply all" option.

There are lots of features in the QTH.NET system that you can apply if you'd like. Go to the URLs listed in messages received from the list to learn more about these features or apply them.  Every month you will receive a reminder from QTH.COM letting you know you are a member of the list and giving you a password to access your membership settings.
