The 'sort-of ' Annual Mad River Beach Kayak Surf Festival
The event will be held in Arcata, CA, on September 1st and 2nd, 2007
Mad river beach is located three miles west of Arcata, CA. Take the Guintoli / Janes Rd. exit and turn west on Janes road. Go about one block and take the right on Heindon and left on Miller. Follow the signs to the Mad River Humboldt County Park and park in the big paved lot. The beach entrance is at the end of the road.

The beach goes on for miles-there will be plenty of room to play out of the contest zone.
The event will include the following categories:
Wave Ski Expert: WSE
High Performance Mens Expert: HPME can use any decked boat
High Performance Womens Expert: HPWE can use any decked boat
Rodeo Mixed Expert only: RME can use any decked boat or wave ski
International Class Mens: ICM International regulation kayaks only
International Class Womens: ICW International regulation kayaks only
International Class Juniors: ICW International regulation kayaks only

 
There are many Motels and Bed and Breakfasts in Eureka, Arcata, Mckinleyville and Trinidad. There is a State park at Patricks Point 15 miles north of the contest. There will be a pre-contest gathering at my house on Friday the 31st. The party will start at 4:00 pm. Bring your own food and drink. A contest meeting will be scheduled for 7:30 am every morning of the contest.

Pre-Registration for this contest is mandatory, there will be no beach registration. All entries must be received by August 29th.

Waiver of Liability:
In consideration of participating in this event, I hereby indemnify and hold harmless and release Wold Ski Custom, its agents and employees, from any and all liability for any injury suffered by myself or my minor child arising from or connected with this program and I assume all risk for any injuries received. In addition, I acknowledge that I will obey all rules and adhere to the established course and understand that my deviation from the course may result in disqualification. I further acknowledge that I am solely responsible and assume all liability for any accident and all injuries which may result from the event.
