Sometimes a new product name just fits and that is case in the newest surf kayak designed by me, Dick Wold . The Stellar is stellar! The Stellar high performance surf kayak is the brainchild of my 28 years of competitive kayaking experience and 20 years of designing wave skis and surf kayaks. I have built on wave ski design and taken the best parts of mostly the Epic and the Super Nova surf kayaks and combined them all to create the Stellar.

The Stellar is 6 feet 11 inches long and 25.5 inches at is widest point. It's tri-concave hull, corrugated side walls, vertically I-beam designed joint, inside and outside seams along with the glassed on cockpit rim, makes the Stellar the strongest structurally sound surf kayak on the market today. The Stellar can be cut to fit paddlers that are between 130 - 220 lbs and 5 ft - 6 ft 3 inches in height.

The Stellar is fast, the lowered tail rocker and tri-concave hull gives it the speed. The Stellar can turn on a dime, the flowing curve of the top view rail line and the short length combine to make this possible. The stellar has a very forgiving front end, the forgiving progessive rail bevel and concave lift on the front end makes round house and floater maneuvers much easier to perform. The forgiving front end also makes the Stellar very easy to spin and to back surf. The lower volume stern on the Stellar allows for instant squirt turn takeoffs and the balanced buoyancy makes the Stellar easy to cartwheel. The short length, hull rocker, balanced buoyancy and forgiving front end are the design features that come together to make the Stellar the able to perform aerials, helixes, blunts, loops and any bouncing maneuver you can imagine.
The best thing about the Stellar is that this surf kayak can be surfed by both beginners and experts. Those learning the sport will get a fun forgiving boat that will allow you to progress in your skills. The more advanced kayakers will be able to tap into all the fun of a good freestyle river kayak combined with the power of a fast surf kayak.
